Title: Otakon 2007
Post by: Uchiha Sasuke on November 15, 2006, 04:13:18 PM
Hey everyone!
As of now, I've found out the date for this coming summer's Otakon date. It will be from July 20-22nd in Baltimore, Maryland at the Baltimore Convention center.
As you know, there had been another thread posted last summer, however this year I'm posting it early for you all so you are all aware of the date.
Anyone interested in going, I can give you further information, but if you are going to book a hotel do it early. Any questions about Otakon, or what it had to offer, let me know.
:3
~Tracey

-*Is hit with a rock O_o*-
Well it is well worth going, and I'd like to see all who is.
As read on the previous, but now locked Otakon thread events will be:

Video Gaming Tournaments
Otaku Rave/Dance
Cosplaying
LARP/Masquerading
Dealersroom
Artist Room (You can display and sell your own work here too >.> as well as buy others)
Otacafe and Karaoke
Anime Premieres/New showings/ old favorites
Concerts (Dir En Grey and L Arc Ciel played in past years)

It's all around fun, you also get to meet people that have similar interests, :3
Book a hotel soon....and if you'll go, I'll be cosplaying again ^_^

Everyone should go, it's loads of fun!
Also, if anyones interested, chances are I'm gonna be in a hotel room with some of my friends. If anyone here is interested, we might need some roomies to even out the room >.< and it'd be cheaper, just there may be six people in a two bedroom room.
It's not like we're at the hotel all day anyway >.>

I am sure you will get a lot of "roomies" if it was one room instead of two. You know how boys are.

Well, it would be the same room. We've always had guys and girls in rooms, but it's not like we're up to anything suspicious >.<
Besides, I'm not going to be at the hotel too long anyway :3 Just to sleep and swim in the pool on that thursday after waiting in line to get my badge.

First thing is first, you need to preregister.
Preregistering will ensure you can go into the convention center. It might be $80 this year due to the mass amounts.
You also want to get a hotel for the few days down there, unless you live in Baltimore yourself.
That can be any price depending on who is with you.

I'll probably be going this year. I'll force my bro to drive down there or try and get my friend to go. Last year, I didn't go because I couldn't get down there at all(My friend couldnt dish out the money). I try to get him to go because he has relatives that live down there and its a place to stay. If I get my bro to go down there I'll just get him to bring our giant van down and stay in that or something.
Title: Re: Otakon 2007
Post by: Uchiha Sasuke on December 21, 2006, 02:20:09 PM
That sounds like a great idea, only the fact is if you go, I suggest getting a hotel now.
Title: Re: Otakon 2007
Post by: Twilightedge{Innocence} on December 22, 2006, 01:40:32 AM
Actually it's completly changed around now me and a bunch of other people are all going down in a van and probably sleeping in it. We are considering buying a retard bus or just renting one of the giant vans if we do that we are definatly sleeping on them, a few people who are considering going have family members down there so if thats possible we may end up doing that or just so many in that house and so many in the van and then just rotate for as long as we are there.
Title: Re: Otakon 2007

Well that's great to hear :3
Title: Re: Otakon 2007
Post by: Uchiha Sasuke on January 04, 2007, 02:38:25 PM
Apparently we have six rooms :3
and I have access to one of the rooms. We'll try to fit six, pushing seven even >>

Room 1:
1)Tracey
2)DB(Megan)
3)Mike
4)Joey
5)(Reserved for Joey's friend?)
6)? friend
7)? friend
~Full (changes may happen)~

Th
e cost in he Days Inn is 209 a night plus tax, if we can get six people per room, price will go DOWN.  :smt041
We'll be there from that Thursday July 19th, at 12:00 pm  to Sunday July 22nd until check at Noon .

Start leaving names now if you are SURE you will be going to Otakon. Most hotels may be sold out, or be more costly by now, this way at least it will be cheaper on all of us ._.; ('specially me xD) so if you want to go, and are sure about it. Send me a message, or leave your name on the board. I will add you right away.
When it comes down to cost, I will notify those of you who wish to stay in either of the rooms. If
we get six people at most in a room, it'd be only about 110 or 120 each (Plus tax...this is all to be determined.)
 This will GUARANTEE your stay.
However, the one room has Two queen size beds. So we'll have to cycle who gets to sleep where. ._.; Sorry all, but hey, it's still cheaper then 800 bucks. :3
That's all on you, however, if expenses may be a bit hard on you. I can work something out with you, so don't hesitate to send a message to me asking about it.
Hotels do not include food, nor registration for the convention itself. Registration will start sometime about late February I'm guessing.

Any questions or comments on hotels? Or need more information in general?
Drop me a message, or email me.
Thanks ^.^
~Tracey.

Also...Cosplayers? I will be trying to set up a Naruto cosplay >>;
If you want to join, also don't hesitate to leave the message either.

There is no longer room available with me however. My room slot has been filled. You must check back with another group.

Do you have to dressup? o.O
Title: Re: Otakon 2007
Post by: Uchiha Sasuke on March 02, 2007, 04:29:28 PM
Heh, no not really...
It's not required to dressup but those who do are known as cosplayers. Cosplayers usually make costumes and dressup.
So it's pretty much optional.
I've seen everything from complex costumes to the easiest....the save point xD (Some guy wearing a box that says "SAVE POINT" and asking "Would you like to save your game?")

I know this is reviving a topic but i have a few questions I cant seem to find aswers and people who have been to okaton may know.

I'm might be able to go (If I register and -comeup with 60 and convince my Mother0)

Im going to tenesses so it would be only a day drive away so It maybe possible if i get these answer answered

Is the Hentai (Please say no)

Is it like 2 or 3  days (Please say yes)

Will it be worth the ^0 dollars

Should I bring a friend (this would be a stretch since I have only  one friend who likes anime and her parents are umm protective..)
