How about adding toy models at the gift shop as both gifts and collectables?
Common (always on display)
Naruto - 2500 gold
Sasuke - 2500 gold
Sakura - 1500 gold
Uncommon (80% chance of being on display)
Shino - 1500 gold
Hinata - 1500 gold
Kiba - 1500 gold
Chouji - 1500 gold
Shikamaru - 1500 gold
Ino - 1500 gold
Neji - 3000 gold
Lee - 2500 gold
Tenten - 1500 gold
Gaara - 3000 gold

The 3 common ones are always avaliable. For the rest of the collection, you will have to depend on your luck. You can either send one to a friend or buy one for yourself. The toy model that you bought will be added to your inventory.

The toy are only for show. They can't be sold or used.
Maybe you can even put them on display in your dwelling(s) when Neji adds the furniture feature into the game.

Wanna bet for $50 that there will be at least 30% of all users with museum who'd abuse that function?
May I remind you of the coffers issue? Or the still present issue with self-referred multichars?
Or about other things that were simply said to be "good strategy" but was simply exploiting stuff?

I don't care at all about a museum I just want the models in the game, especially if their show in the bio. I love the collectible stuff Gyu comes up with :D

1. he said NPCs... (I'm assuming he meant Non-playable characters), so they couldn't necessarily abuse it in the way of visiting their own museum...
2. People aren't going to go see a museum that's got two items in it as much as one that's got everything... so you aren't going to make money and gems off of one toy... and it'd be entirely random... you could wake up one day... and the new game day message will say, "you've recieved 10 gold from admissions at your museum..." (that is when you've spent 10,000 on the toys themselves, and this message doesn't appear all the time, just randomly...)
3. You get more expensive and rare stuff, you get more gold... 100 gold randomly a day... a .001 percent chance of getting a gem... etc...

I dont see the point of opening a one man museum... why not just make it like tatoos and have them listed on your bio? {no shrinking tow models! :-x}

and i was thinking of random events like: tenten loves your museum bla bla bla you gain a charm point
2.yes.. maybe a minimum of 10 toys would get you.. lets say 10 gold per hour?
and when you get 32 you get 60% change of getting a gem? and 20% change of getting 3 gems

This reminds me of the kingdom of loathing (morpg) gift shop. You can buy plushies and flowers and different knicknacks from the giftshop. Then as you ascend (our equal to Oro kills) throughout the game more and more gift become available to you at a greater price. You can put these items, along with any other items you have, in your display case (cost 100,000 meat(their currency)) Any other player can click on an indivuals display case through their bio accesed usually by clicking on their name in the chat. I loved the idea of collectibles in KOL and it'd be nice to have them here too.

No showcase, this was only meant to give players something to look forward at a new day besides more leveling, more DK, more gems, more HP, more events or more whatever you can think of.
As for the picture thingy, it might not be a good idea. Copyrights and also the load on the server, if you know what I mean.

You play with the orochimaru figure all the day... you lose 2 forest fights
you play with orochimaru.. **if your evil** you start thinking how great he is you gain 2 forest fights.. **if your good** you start thinking how evil is he and you want to slay him faaast! you gain 2 forest fighs

if you are mail: you lose your eyesight and have permanently attack of 0.
if you are female and <18: you start to admire this figure and don't want to go to bed without it
if you are female and >18 and bad-looking: you sense that the figure wants you to make more out of you and you begin to work out and use cosmetics
if you are female, >18 and good-looking: you feel like you need to adore neji and can only think of him. so much, that you need to be with the real deal in person.

If female and good: You feel the need to go out and make this man yours and pop out a few puppys. "You've been killed by Baluski's Girlfriend! Charm points have been reset!"
If female and evil: You feel the need to make this man a sandwich...wiith cheedar, hot peppers, and mayo.

Try this for size:
Playing with any doll takes 1 turn or 1 PvP.
Neji The ADMIN Toy: You play with the Neji ADMIN Action Figure and you can't stop for some reason, its gotten you hypnotized. You can't resist the doll. Your brain turns to tapioca.
Effect: Lose 2 charm, and 5 forest fights.
Shikamaru Toy: You play with the Shikamaru Toy, and suddenly you feel drowsy.
Effect: Lose 4 turns.
Naruto Toy: You play with the Naruto toy, and you feel like wanting to be hokage, you then realize you can't do that without slaying Orochimaru. You gain internal strength.
Effect: Gain 4 turns.
Neji Hyuuga: You play with the Neji toy, and feel like you have the byakugan. Tenten/Lee/spouse laughs at you and thinks your funny/stupid.
Effect: Gain/Lose 2 charm.
Hinata toy: You play with the hinata toy, and feel shy. You feel like being shy.
Effect: Lose 2 forest fights.
Sasuke Toy: You play with the Sasuke Toy and remember the Uchiha Massacre, it wakes the warrior within you and you gain strength.
Effect: Temporary buff of 5 strength for 15 rounds, and +2 forest fights.

We're trying to keep away from giving the toys effects. I'd rather them not do anythnig but decorate my bio :D
