This is just a fun little thing I thought of and wanted to see what other people thought of it and would rate themselves as.
Basically my little formula is rating a person's overall zoning ability on a score of 2 to 20. You get this score by adding two scores together "Strength" and "Skill". Strength is your character's IC ability. Are they a Genin, Jounin, Kage, Bocchiere, etc. Skill is your actual writing ability in regards to a zone fight, how good are you at fighting people? Can you notice errors and take advantage, can you properly post and defend yourself and such? Both of those are on 1-10 scale.
You would then compare your power level to your opponents and it should tell you how easy or hard it would be to beat them. I don't have a scale for that yet but obviously if you both have the same score the fight should be a 50/50 shot either way, and so on in either direction higher or lower.
What do people think of this? Accurate? Totally wrong? Taking it to its far extreme would be to say someone who is rping the highest power character but cannot zone to save their life and someone rping a Genin and is amazing at zoning would be 11 each and about an even match and I'd tentatively agree with that. And what would you rate yourself at? I want to make a little scale of everyone, just for fun, to see what it looks like. To nip any arguing or snide comments in the bud I want to note that you should only tell us what YOUR OWN score is, not anyone else's, no matter how well meaning you are. Let's just not even start that.
I'll go first and say that I'm a perfect 20. Bocchiere is arguably the strongest person in the world of SL currently and I am the best zone fighter. #humblebrag #actuallythatsmoreofaregularbrag

Should have 1 just because. >.>
I'll go with a 21 please. Thanks <3

I'm arguably a 20 or a 19. I'm definitely a 10 on the zoning ability and I'm either a 9 or 10 in character strength.

13. Thanks.

Strength = x + 1
Skill = x + 1
x = Opponent's strength or skill level
I don't think numbers can really quantify something like this well to find out who is really better in the end. Just look at Bernie and Hilary's numbers.

Well Kay has great power. I would rate her at a 10. However I don't seem to ever face anyone who can take a hit, or acknowledge the powers that she wields, can manage not to metagame or character control her into weakness. I have even faced some of the greatest among you who claim that a simple sword maneuver was impossible to counter...which I immediately play acted out with my kids with broom sticks just to verify that my notions was correct...and guess what? I was right....so in the zones I am a 0 or even a -10
making me a big fat zero.
Is that about how this scale works?

20.

Well, consider data books. There is an unspoken tier level for people and what they can do. It's no direct "can they do this 6 times in a row? Cool, they get X tier. They can't? V."

I'd give myself a 12 >_>

14, maybe 15.

My character's power level has increased, but truthfully speaking, most of my claim to fame is in personalization and taking advantage of my opponent, and even then, I can get really repetitive when put into a pinch.
7 ~ Skill
6 ~ Character strength
13 ~ Total.

When it comes to skill, i'm rusty as f%$# sooooo i'd say about a 7 there, and my char just got revamped so that doesn't help, but his power i'd rate around 7 as well so gimme dat 14.
