Failing Jutsu and Handseals
« on: April 02, 2008, 09:43:15 AM »

Jutsu's are overpowered >_> i think jutsu's should fail sometimes  and we have to make handsigns first. So something like this. Lets say i'm using katon ninjutsu. I can go to the academy and pay gold to practice the jutsu, or pay gold to practice handsigns. If i practice the jutsu i have less of a chance of failing the jutsu until i eventually master it. Handsigns would be like all the handsigns in the show.  There are 12 main types according to this website thing >_> Bird,Boar,Dog,Dragon,Rabbit,Horse,Ox,Monkey, Ram, Rat, Snake, and Tiger. http://www.narutocentral.com/information/seals/
that's a list of the jutsu and their handsigns from a site i googled
SO lets say i'm using chidori. It's Ox, Rabbit, Boar, Pig. So you would train in the handsigns. If you've mastered less than half the handsigns you have to wait 3 turns to finish. If you've mastered half of the handsigns you wait 2 turn to finish. If you've mastered them all you can use the jutsu on the next turn.    Now all of this training seems kinda pointless if i lose it all after a DK. Or we could just make it cheap to master the jutsu >_> Or just make it expensive and get to keep it (not through a kekkai genkai reset)

Or we could just add 2 more stats... Jutsu ( decreases chance of a jutsu failing. every 3 DK points is a level up) and Handsign speed ( decreases amount of turns to make a handsign, every 5 is a level up)
Oh also if you fail a jutsu it would steal waste chakra :D

It sounds interesting, though :-/

but I failed at the introduction of jutsus based on attributes, so this is too complex for people too.

They work. I never seen any jutsu fail in Naruto. Also, if you're skilled enough later on, you do them almost unconsciously.

Look, since the justu is on the list, it is implied that you memorized the hand signs.

Yeah but they always say that they train... Ex: Sasuke's chidori. He practiced it with kakashi until he got it right. You wouldn't use a jutsu in a fight unless you knew it or were desperate. Or neji and hinata. They always train their byakagun and neji trains kaiten and hinata practices hitting the logs (for what i think was palms). The rasengan also needed to be practiced ( and it was a lot harder to master the chakra spinning)

Well if you look when you choose the jutsu, it say somthing spent your days playing with whatever or somthing like that, so you did train, there for the jutsus wont fail

Many people wouldnt like features that make the game even worse so maybe we can train our jutsu damage at the training grounds for gold (vanishes after DK) or for gems (permanent)

you mean "harder"

and that's why I am not putting anything except non-stat-influencing stuff in the game right now ;)
because I have been multiply accused of running things down the drain. make it impossible for players and whatnot.

<---bad bad man

so I just keep away from doing something.
