I have to learn Dutch as part of a project in Spanish.
Our teacher was like "Because you guys are complaining about Spanish, I'm assigning you another language for you to study. You have to do a research paper on the language."
The paper has to be in Spanish, though.
So I have to find stuff about Dutch in English, then learn about the Dutch language, then write about it in Spanish .-.

Japanese is a hell of alot easier than French. I've learned more Japanese in just over a year, while I learned next to nothing in French over 4 or 5 years.
So, really, like anything else, it depends on how interested you are. I'm interested in Japanese, so I'm pretty good at it so far.

I know a bit of French just by watching my friend do his homework and comparing it to Spanish.
And Japanese sounds like a language that's difficult to pick up, but gets easier as you go.

It's the contrary to me.
Just when you think you have the hang of it, some rule kicks you in the face.

French is harder for English speakers because of its tenses and overall grammar.

Yeah. A lot of European languages have roots in Latin.
