Or it might be from a sick person unable to get it, lying in a coma somewhere

Well, when you find that sum of money, then you should never keep it.

There could be any reason for having that, such as going to pay for someone's treatment when they're in a hospital if you have no insurance, it could be from a bank robbery, etc.
