Looking at the old topics, there was a big theme of penguins on this site back in the day. Was there a reason? Or was it just because the age-group back then fit the whole "t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m"-oh-so-random mentality back then? Just curious :)

Guess it was just 'the times'. Man, to think that meme culture has changed so much in the past 10ish years. I don't think anyone could have predicted what it would become.

Was that the time of Happy Feet, Madagascar, March of the Penguins, or anything similar? I doubt the mighty Penguinator of the Sonic series did the trick.

Looks like penguins were just the 'memes' of that era. Guess the natural progression from penguins in frogs. Still, it's funny that kids acted like that back then. I wonder if they still act like that.

One of the reasons for the prolonged penguin stuff was Baluski. =)

Every time he, primarily and then others, would lock a topic, the notion was a penguin would die.
Now, how *that* started, I do not remember. Could be due to Baluski's meme. :P
