ever thought of a better idea for your name? with this feature with 10000 DP you can change your name this can only happen twice.

Actually, this is quite a nice idea, should the name you wish to change to hasn't already been taken. 

However, I don't really see the point in paying $US100 just to change your character's name, perhaps 1/4 would be more convenient, or at the max, 1/2 (5000DP).

Not necessary. It should however, have a limit, say 2 per player, no exceptions.

This looks like it could be easily implmaented.

this idea has already been brought up once before, about two years ago, neji denied it because the character name is how the server knows you. change the name, server must recalculate who you are. too tough on the server. search function is brilliant, use it next time

The only way this would work (sorry to butt in) would be by petition. (similar to how you revive accounts)

This would mean Neji (or a high ranked staff) would have to personally do each and everyone of them.

Secondly, changing your name could completely nullify past sins. This would be like a get out of jail (at a cost) card for those who have done naughty things.

It would be nice, for use who made stupid account names. But it isn't logical for this server..

It is possible to work, if the name is not the main way it Identifies you, and there is a difference between the login name, and display name.
But for the reasons Zim stated, I think it isn't a good idea myself.

As stated, there are a few accounts with modified Logins, with different display names.

Uchiha (the 6 reborn) is actually Uchiho (due to deletion issues)

To find him/identify him, you must use Uchiho (which can be confusing)

To change login and display, It'd be a moderator nightmare.
To change only display would cause a bigger nightmare of locating characters.

(if your login name is Sasuketheawesomeuchiha, and you change display to George...nobody could find you. George wouldn't work, they would need your login name.)

Another one on my to-do list (bottom somewhat).

I will make ACCOUNT names and CHARACTER names different.

So you can have an account named (for security purposes) "johnmiddhave21eyes!#§$21" and the char is named "Johnny".

Though the changing-names stuff involves a lot of modules who rely on it, it's a bit nasty to do =)

I never quite thought of it that way. Be a nice security feature to have your login different than your display name.

The question is, can it be done to search/mail by display name rather than login name?


And would existing accounts have a chance to change their login/display? It would be madness with EVERYONE wanting to change stuff
