Another one of my ideas, this is also an event that happens in the forest.(sigh) Here goes nothing
While walking through the forest, you find yourself overcome with thirst, you look around, but there is not a fountain or lake in sight, but to your luck, you find an abandoned Soda machine. Theres a foreing language written on the machine, and you cant tell how long it as been there, but the thirst is killing you.
Choices
1. Buy a drink.(100 gold)
2. Deal with the thirst.
Result 1
You buy a drink and empty its contents. Ah! You feel refreshed.(Healed Hp)
Result 2
You buy a drink and empty its contents. Uh-oh, the drink did not agree with your stomach, and you spend sometime in the out house( lose 2 turns)
Resuly 3
You buy a drink and empty its contents. *Choke* There's something lodged in your throat, you cough it up, and find a gem!
Result 4
You buy a drink and empty its contents. Whoa! Your head starts to spin. You begin to wonder aimlessly as your head is attacked by illusions, you wake up hours later, tired and with all your gold gone.(Loss of gold, and rest of turns)
Result 5
You buy a drink and empty its contents. Wow! you feel good, I mean really good, good enough to go searching for some more monsters.( Plus 5 turns)

Alright, so what do you think, good, bad, I reall put some thought into this.........I think

I will give consideration to it.

Yet, I have to display that this event has the following structure:


Trigger -> 5 Outcomes

No other conditions. It has quickly displayed all the options to a player if he encounters it some time...

Basically, we can do ideas like that, but there will be quite a few. I cannot code this all into modules, then we would have 30 villages events and 100 forest specials... all equivalent in outcome.

I prefer to do it like:

Trigger -> 3 PreOutcomes

PreOutcome -> based on i.e. alignment, race, etc -> 2 more triggers

Trigger -> Outcome.

This quickly grows in complexity.

Imagine a timeline with 3 decisions... al lead to different outcomes (say, 2 each decision).

Theoretically, this makes 2^3 = 8 different outcomes. Much work to program for 2 choices each.

Make it 3 choices(or checks for alignment, race, gold....) and you have 27.
Make 4, you have 4^3=64.

thats a really good idea but another soda can event maybe something else like a secret ramen shop

It's a good idea, but the outcomes are almost all good in my opinion.... maybe instead of 5 turns like 2 turns... and there being two outcomes of the gem in the throat. They die or something cause they can't spit it out, or there's posion in the drink..
