Seriously, there is a module that allows the server to recognize alts! What is the point of having it if you aren't gonna use it to prevent this kind of thing, instead of acting like we're all gonna mess up!
Down to the basics
I ban almost every week people who circumvent the protection (which is only a tiny one, really) to attack their alts/shift dp to their main/etc. Just for fun.
The gem store was heavily abused in the castles. I never thought somebody would make alts this high, but I was wrong. There was a whole gang of gem-shifters. Gems got paid with DP at that time.
Now, tell me again that people won't really abuse it? And that preventing this is secure? Oo
It would imbalance stuff greatly, "hey, I make my alt buy all items when I am on level 1, so I get TONS of gold and be level 15 right away! Best weapon+armor"
So you say I should limit the buys to user-level +1 maybe? Then we can talk, because all your money would not be of use. =)
400 gold for an item might be too small, and really, if you all do not use the advanced items, where is the point in selling items really? Oo are you that poor? I doubt it.
Also, the mass does the trick. Sell 10 items a day, 4k gold. also limit on that? wow, we are limited everything.
It is VERY tedious to track down people who try and sometimes succeed to circumvent the rules.
It is *much* better to prevent it by not allowing it.
You can interact with other chars... limited.
PvP has a chance you get killed in the attempt.
Marriage is also tedious to get.
And so on.
I am open to REASONABLE suggestions, but I fail to see it here in this one.
The merchant grabs your items, so go there?
