Why do you all hate DBZ? >.<

I would not say that I hate Dragon Ball (and all of its spawn), but I do not like it nor do I consider it to be a good anime.  To be honest, I put it on about the same level as Yu Gi Oh.  Both of which are slightly below Pokemon.

DBZ Had the possibility of being good. They had a good setting and everything, they just didn't make the story overly strong.
And who puts anything below Pokémon?

Really? I consider pokemon to be rock bottom, then yugioh, and DBZ is like an old porno - it's good, but there are better ones.

A compelling story is the first requirement for me.  And if the story is sacrificed to squeeze in more action, then that makes it worse.

But perhaps I am just a cranky old man, because I think Bleach has potential, but adopts far too many of the same things I did/do not like about Dragon Ball.

It would be hard to redo DBZ because to me no matter wht they do they always get stuck with that same storyline.

Yes, seeing the same flashback of Naruto being trained by Jiraiya three times, or a character taking entire episodes to transform are all examples of filler.  Naruto went overboard with it's filler when they went on for over 100 episodes with those things.

I'm sure just by removing the filler alone, the story itself becomes better, because it's no longer scattered amongst fillers or watered down that way.

As for action; Naruto has better action then a lot of animes out there because they have fights where the 2 fighters are actually thinking, example being Shikamaru mostly, but there is still thought put into the fights.

I gave Bleach what I consider a fair chance.  I have read all of the manga and watch the anime up until they went into Heuco Mundo (wherever Aizen is based).  I check in every now and again because I think it has so much potential, I hope it actually cashes in at some point.

Yes, I despise fillers.  Both the filler arcs, and the added flashbacks, etc.

Exceptions - Land of Tea arc was done acceptably, and it was placed well.  Had it been in the middle of the long batch of fillers, it would have scored worse.

I also really like the first Naruto movie.  I know it is not a filler, but of the movies to date, it is the only one that I would consider watching again.
