Well with things in the world, why not keep up with the trends in SL

A swine flu out break!

Maybe it could start with a small forest event to get a few people to have the swine flu, then after that each time the player goes to any area like a village, Clan halls, garden etc... there is a chance they'll pass it on to some of the others there.
All it would do would provide a small debuff for a couple of days.

I just thought it would be an interesting idea ^^

The swine flu is not a trend or something to celebrate. It's a virus that kills people. Sorry, but I find the idea a bit insensitive. Did you think about how the people who has actually lost someone or have their love ones hospitalized because of the virus might feel before you post this idea?

A zombie outbreak would have sounded better. Especially on Halloween.

Hurricane Katrina in SL? Definitely not liking that whole idea. Those that were effected by these disasters would be pretty upset.

But some other fictional disaster in SL could be an idea (zombie-izing plague if we're going along the lines of zombies).

People are being such fools nowadays.

Sine flu is the same as the regular flu, though, it is more 'harmful' [I regret using that word] because we have not built an immunity to it...

People overlook the fact that the regular flu kills an estimate of 34,000 people a year.

this seems pretty relevant but they actually did have a zombie plague in world of warcraft. But would the zombie outbreak be year round or seasonal?

What I meant is "zombie outbreak" sounds better than "swine flu". And that the event would fit Halloween perfectly.

The same reason why "the day the sky rain blood" only happens during Halloween. Besides, why would we call it an outbreak if there isn't a lot of people who would become a zombie.
