A new moderator function - Event maker!
« on: March 10, 2007, 10:49:09 PM »

Well the whole thing is rather simple. Make a mechanism, so that someone could make a temporary Special event which everyone COULD or WOULD HAVE TO participate in. Of course, it might include things like :

- PvP(not necessarily on same rank) or Tournaments
- Unique, but not necessarily Elite items as prizes. Which could rise depending on the person and his part in the event.
- Permanent or temporary boosts or ex-boosts(curses, hexes , poisons etc)
- Or, donation points as a prize.
- More less-temporary effects, but far more exotic ones, like creating a village, building a statue. etc but this ones just dreaming so.;ppp

Obviously, the moderator should not influent what excatly will happen to the player (will he be successful or not in something) because they shall determine the percentage of chance to do something a bit earlier.
And , the moderator would have that event approved and checked by himself or by chosen event testers, or someone else capable of testing them.

This way, if the event proves quite realistic, and not too exotic, they could have been plugged to the game for a longer time, meaning the game would grow.

Whaddya think, Neji?;)

You don't really make events...It requires coding from what I've gathered...I bet that an in-game event maker is going to be a big no...
Plus, it can be abused...

I was thinking of rather someone independent on the players. Like, a group of people that could specialize in making special events.

One good reason, why not.

Do you mean a team of programmers? That would lead to a lot of trouble.

A group of programmers? if you find one for free let me know -_-

No, yet:

that's what the game masters should be for... exactly this, except they don't grant any boon.

if there is an event, a real one, we could reward high level roleplay with small prices, yes.
But no automatism, and no people who decide who gets something regularly.

Also, who would be independent from the server *and* interested in doing such events?

Nope, no friend with enough time and quality work.

In fact, I already pay one programmer to get more stuff... =)
but there are few in this game coding of enough skill... and who are affordable.

Coding is really hard... i know because i'm learning how to program in c# .But it would be really good if you could get a good programmer.

If I could find a guide online on how to program this game I would help you program events. (a 12 yearold programer ftw)

Neji wouldn't be so much of a god anymore. This would also take a skilled porgrammer (Neji) to take in every one of these and make it happen

I think we should just call this a no-go and stop teasing the penguin. >>

If Neji were to get a group of programmers, they would most likely have events in that he does not want, and things that do not relate to Naruto. And let's not forget that you can't trust a lot of people on the internet, in this case, with your servers.
