actually the gem coffers did help me once, when i sold my alt nkadid to someone for like 70 gems. But the coffers really do more harm then good

Clan leadership can pool gems to pay for Clan av.  But that is a fairly recent occurence, and the gem coffers were there before.

Yes, the cityhouse was made for the clan. I wanted to delete that alt of mine (yes, even after all the hard work I did to get her to sannin) so i asked a clan member to buy it from me since there is no option to pass the ownership of the dwelling to another player (there's a good reason why you can't do that).

well my clan is goign to get a clan hous soon so we kinda need to coffers opened back up so we can pool to get the av

I worded this a little akwardly.  This proposal involves a Clan Gem Coffer (if that is even possible) where ANY clan member can deposit gems, up to 50.  The ONLY use for those gems would be for leadership to pay for the Clan Av.  The gems could not be withdrawn by ANYONE.  Instead, once the required amount was reached, any of the Clan Leaders could use the gems to authorize the Clan Av.

I realize that the IDEA of clan coffers has been turned down before.  I do not think this is the same thing.

Also, what are the other legitimate reasons for someone to give gems to another account?

What about implementing the 3 Withdrawls / Deposits per 8 hour game day (like PvPs & Travels), lowering the amount per transaction (2 gems? 1 gem?), and reinstating it until a better solution presents itself?

I see many clans founded for gem-trading. That's not an option.

I realized that.

My suggestion had a clan gem coffer where people could deposit but NO ONE could withdraw.

Clan leaders could authorize the gems be used for the av, or to CHANGE the av, but no one would be able to withdraw from the coffers into their own account.

It would be sort of like the Forehead Protector.  Except that when you get to a certain amount, clan leaders could authorize clan extras.

I am not even certain that this solution would be possible as I have no knowledge to the inner workings of the LotGD code.

But I was absolutely NOT proposing that the gems could be withdrawn.

ETA:  Also, my continued replies should not be considered as me lobbying for this particular idea.  It may not be possible or attractive.  I was just trying to come up with a solution for one potentially legitimate reason to pool gems.  Again, no person could trade to another.  In fact, if there were any gems in the clan coffers and a clan dissolved, a la <SK>, the gems would be lost - or go to charity.

Such a thing is possible.
I fear, once there is something like that, the petitions about "why can't I authorize to give gems to clan members who are in need? why do I have to dump them?"

Additionally, there is quite some programming involved to make the extras fit to the chest, and my time already <0
