It is very epic indeed : D

I've been listening to Sonata Arctica - Ecliptica for the last week or so and it just sounds ridiculously good xD, along with other Power metal bands..Blind Guardian, Edguy, Helloween, Early Iced Earth, etc >.>

Discuss epic power metals here

DragonForce is speed metal you know?
People get their genres confused alot.
Though it happens to be a decent band...it did appear in Guitar Hero 3.
Rock Band will contain more Metal and Industrial Metal such NiN although.
I only have a few Power Metal, I am a fan of.
Since I am more Black/Speed/Industrial type.

I consider Dragonforce to be power metal, just because they play fast doesn't make it speed metal. And it also doesn't make it good.

I'm more inclined to listen to Progressive metal myself, Circus Maximus, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, ect., but I'm not limited to just that. <.<

Dragonforce IS speed metal, and a bit of power metal in some songs.

Dragonforce is speed metal but LARGELY power metal

I've been in many metal forums and there's always discussions with sub-genres and the like, but as its it WIDELY recognized as Power Metal (even if they are wrong!)

But enough with that, I've been trying to get back into Power metal recently, anyone recommend any good albums?

eh not sure if it counts as power metal but the new new Avenged Sevenfold album is out.... havent gotten a chance to listen to it yet but it should be good...

like i said i really dont know what genre they go under...

i stopped caring about genre and go on a "if it sounds good then im getting the song" thing

Aenima is my favorite from them >.>

Forty Six and Two, Stinkfist, The Grudge (most badass drumming I've seen x.x), and Eulogy..couple of the noteworthy songs

Then theres that whole deal with "If Tool is metal or not" which results in me ripping songs from Slayer "Reign In Blood" album and handing out burned CDs to random people
