Ok before I start I wanna give credit to Albedo for getting me started on this, he did just as much of the thinking with this as I did.

You no longer choose a new specialty when you start or after a Oro kill.
Instead there will be a new place added in the Academy where you can go and learn Jutsus from different Sensei.
These jutsus will cost you to learn, each will have a Gold and Gem cost.
Also each will have a 'Jutsu point' cost, jutsu points will be found by adding Intelligence and Oro kills together, or something like that.
This limits the amount of jutsus you can learn at any point, so a rich Acad or sitter couldn't learn all jutsus.
Once you learn a jutsu it will stay with you forever, over Oro kills etc, only way to lose it is to reset.
Also the jutsus would be broken into Ranks, Such as B,A and S etc... which would provide Oro kills limits, so to learn S rank Jutsus you would need to be at 50 kills or higher.

Now this system help the Specialty system become more like that of the series, in which you go and learn jutsus from your sensei, and you can create kewl combos.
Also since the amount and strengths of the jutsus Depend on Intelligence and DK, it also makes it more like the series, that way if you focus on increasing your Strength and Defence, you wouldn't be as good at Ninjutsu, much like Lee in the series, and the other way round is true, so if you focus Ninjutsu, you physical strength will not be as strong.
So this brings more balance to the game as well.
This could be extended to make Jutsus appear randomly each day like mounts, so not only would strong jutsus be expensive, but rare as well.

This sounds like a lot of work to fix a system which is perfectly fine the way it is....

Yes it would be, but it would take the game to the whole new level.

Ok.
I am not against it.

The thing is:
What does a poor Academy Student / Genin learn?
There is currently a limit to the selection there.

About the training: the thing is, like in Naruto, there are not just trainers that can teach you anything. You are born with an affinity, and hence you can use some jutsus. I introduced that by making use of the attribute system.

can create kewl combos.

erm, yeah, sure, and that's easy?
If you just stack up a buff, it's just a "one click -> dead" combo.
That combo stuff is exactly the hard part.
Say you have ... 8 jutsus. you can combine two of them together. Now, how many unique effects would I have to consider?
Hm, "2 out of 8" ... mathematically speaking, that would be 56 combinations if you do not use the same jutsu twice. =)

Care to program that many combinations? How about combining 3? Only 336 differenct combinations to consider...

Can you balance all them?

Well when you'd start you'd have around 10 jutsu points so they'd be able to get a couple of basic Jutsu moves.
Maybe make a D rank or something which is all they can choose which is made up of basic Jutsus, such as the ones they can already choose eg, Taijutsu and Genjutsu.

Maybe when you start, or when this is put in for all other players, you could choose an Chakra affinity. That could mean I wouldn't cost as much to learn Jutsus of or affinity or something.

Well I didn't really mean combining Jutsus, more like you could have jutsus that complement each other.

Well it does change what we are used to, plus it is slightly more evil, yet good at the same time. But what is it you hate most?

possibly that we have to pay gems and such to learn jutsus?

And whats so bad about sitters knowing them?

They worked for them fair and square, gave up their time and such, wasted gems and gold and countless hours to learn these moves, and you're going to make all their hard work go to waste?

Seems completley wrong in my opinion.

Modify:

Anywho, to me this is still a 100% no.

There is also 1 issue:

You will *not* learn it one time and then get it each Oro Kill... =)

You will have to go through this every single oro kill.

well, it slows people down.

I dislike the fact that it disrupts a perfectly GREAT system that I have become use to. To me this is nothing but an unnecessary change not for better or worst.

Well what if you can just re-choose jutsus you have learn each Oro kill, maybe making it each Oro kill you can only have a Max of 6 Jutsus at a time or something?

Well Kurt I see that you grasped the idea very well and got flamed right on que. ^^

And to any and all people other than Mods and Neji the reason you hate this idea is for some simple reasons.

1: You will have to think and play instead of wake up chose Medical Ninjutsu and hit H over and over.
2: One a day Oro kills will be harder ESPECIALLY if you just got reborn.
3: Gems and Gold will be saved and used for things other than buying the best mounts, so getting Houses, Kyuubi and even money for weapons will also be effected to a great degree

So in other words we are forcing you out of your comfort zone and making you play and think... for once.
