Why on earth, can't Ototon be accepted? >.>
Ninjutsu has 5 basic elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning, and Wind. Then there are advanced natures that are a combination of 2 elements: Hyouton, Mokuton, Youton, etc. And there are some advanced natures that seemed to be upgrades to a basic element like how Enton would be an advanced form of Katon. So what element would Sound be related to? >.>
Also, we have seen sound used as a ninjutsu and a genjutsu a few times. In all those occurrences, there has not been any phrase that relates to "Sound Release" in addition to the title of the jutsu in mention. Right now, I"m too lazy to get a bunch of links of all the sound jutsus that were used in Naruto. I dont deny that there are sound jutsus but there will never be an "Ototon" cuz it doesnt relate to the basic 5 elements. Plain and Simple.
In my opinion, the "Ototon" discussion doesnt even make much of a debate neither cuz it would be reasoning and manga evidence versus the Pro-Ototon ppl's pure speculation of the "possibility of an Ototon" >.>
Same for those ppl who are using "Kageton" (Shadow Release). We have seen Shika use his shadow jutsus so many times and the word "Kageton" NEVER shows up so why even make it up? >.>
I mean, you can still have your unique sound/shadow jutsus but I dont see the point in adding Ototon/Kageton in the beginning of it >.>
