How can it be Madara's body? For some reason, I totally pictured either the 3rd or 4th hokage, which it probably isn't either of them. xD Hurray random guessing!

It is highly likely that it IS Madara's body. Exposing it will let everyone find out that TObi isn't actually Madara. (Obito!!)
Another possibility is that the body is Madara's brother.

Whoever it is, it obviously represents something that Tobi / Madara does not want to be known.

I don't see Madara so surprised at the third hokage, tough it would be surprising for the leaf village. That reminds me moreof part of 'the rest of the set' Kabuto has...The Third is probably in there somewhere.


I doubt Tobi is Obito at this stage, but again, Kabuto might be able to bring him in too...


And there might be something like not being able to ressurect anyone who's soul has been sealed away by Shikki Fuujin...

I agree that that is a strong possibility, and one I had not previously considered . . .

 . . . but why would it be so important for KabutOro not to have told anyone?  That technique can bring back any dead person, correct?  So why would it be a shock if KabutOro brought back the First Hokage?

What if Madara created the bodyswitch technique (seen used by Orochimaru) and Madara switched his dying body with Obito's and did all that healing nonsense first. That would explain 100% why he wears the mask, doesn't show his body, and all that. And then Kabuto bought back Madara's original body. After all, "Madara" did once say he "is not what he used to be."

Just a hypothesis.

If Madara was Obito then wouldn't the container that he is using be younger?
When he took off his mask to reveal himself to Sasuke you could clearly see the wrinkles on his face, Obito would be around Kakashi's age.

What I think is that the coffin either contained Izuna (His brother), Rikudo Sennin or perhaps Tobi the very alias he used, perhaps it was a close friend of Madara back during the founding of Konoha but due to some unknown circumstance he died but when he went into seclusion he took it upon himself to use his alias as a sort "tribute" for his causes but Kabuto became curious and decided to investigate further this his "ace" was forged.

Here's a guess: Mabye Tobi is Madara's son! Haha, bit of a stretch, but I like it.

Tobi was very shocked to see what was in the coffin. Maybe because it is the true Madara.
As to how he "survived" the fight with the shodaime and was never the same again.
Maybe Tobi came and took his father's eyes? Ahah.
Madara isn't supposed to be dead, but maybe Kabuto had a hunch and resurrected Madara and was right?!
How is Madara even still alive without dying from old age? A special jutsu?
If madara had a son, how old would he be?

Don't take what I say serious. But now I wonder.
