stealing keys and other stuff

  stealing is quite common in the cannon anime and every thing why not SL?

Maybe because the owner of the dwelling could just retake the key. Don't forget that immoral practices are unwelcome on the server (ie explicit content, swearing). The last thing the game needs is a legion of furious players petitioning about their hard-earned (the opposite if they've been taking advantage over multi-accounts) being withdrawn by a Nobody.
