The idea I'll throw out there, since I was redirected to this forum via PM, is that rather than a Jounin tourney, wouldn't it make sense for more of an arena sort of thing?  A place for jounins online to gather and just duke it out.

I know, the Main Zone is a decent place for that sort of thing, and the perfect location to host this sort of thing, but to make it more interesting winners of fair matchups by appointed referee(s) could be awareded DP or a "point". With DP, simple enough, you get DP.

With points, if you get enough points, you get to be "invited" to higher levelled fights where others with similar point values are matched up against you.

Yeah, complicated I know, but this is all brainstorming no?

That does have a certain appeal to it Eric.  Some how to allow a person time to garner experience while having incentive to progress.

I did some talking with people today about the Jounin Exam idea too.

IT was thought that if such a thing occurred that the contestants would face off against each other 1 v 1 to demonstrate their power and skill. In order to evaluate them for leadership qualities and intelligent strategy, each would have a 3 man chuunin NPC team with no KGs to control too.

That should be much more scheduling friendly than actually trying to get 8 people together all at the same time.

It was also suggested just to have some fun events and give out DP randomly based on no skill at all, just participation. I think on SL it is awful easy to forget that RP is much more than just zoning.

I'd like to enrich this thread by two things:

1. Prizes

SL will offer additional DP/items/whatnot for such events - as the first one went really well and had a great feedback, it is something that we should help players with =) like funding or more.

I'd also put in other currencies or special prizes - a first prize could be a personal weapon +2, an item named after you (which you might suggest what it does, like Chouji's pills) or something like this.

2. Spending of DP

If you have an idea what you would spend DP on, and is contributing positively to the server, suggest it.
Things like "exchange DP for gems/gold" won't come, but I am not against "renting" special RP zones, giving the renting party possibly rights over the text posted there (similar like a moderator).

Perhaps it would be possible to spend DP to purchase an extra PVP a day, to a maximum of 3 for 250 DP? If just to benefit sitters/new academy students that made a friend that blessed them with DP. That being said...

20,000 DP to reset KGs sounds legit and fair to me.

That is astounding. Those kind of things would be really appreciated and make the event worth even more. Some people just don't need DP...like that miser Reimu over there...


I am not gonna talk about resetting KGs. You guys have at that one on your own. IF I want new powers, I just create an alt.  I nearly have fits every time I see a new avatar or name, am horrified by the meat market  and hate change in general when it comes to identity.

I merely bring it up, because I am a boring bland miko with no personality, that blossoms when no one is around to witness it and withers away leaving an unpleasant feeling.

Or simply put, I'm too loopy to think of ideas right now and people are still bothering me about shutting down KG Switching.

I like the "renting a special RP zone" idea. I would love me one of those and have all my challengers posts in it so I keep track of ppl I need to zone against.
