The Urban dictionary defines yard sale as such:
When a skier or snowboarder eats it on the slopes and loses all of their gear. If a skier loses his skies, poles, hat, goggles, and anything else, shout "YARD SALE" from the ski lift above him.
Obviously I meant the more mundane definition of an event at which people sell off their unwanted and used items, usually in their front yard.
As for the Zombie Outbreak. I been talking to Zenaku and Warren.
Zenaku said we could think of it as being out of time and space with the usual RP like the Marvel Secret Wars. I didn't want people to not participate cause they are RP locked.
Warren suggested we keep it to all the OOC boards so as to not bury the regular RP or prohibit people from continuing their storylines. I think this is another fine idea.
SO, sometime this Friday you will start to see the effects of this event coming to life in the OOC boards all over the site. We could consider the gardens a safe zone to regroup and make zombie raids from. Heal up from injuries or go there to gather team mates. It would run until Monday night to permit people with various schedules to have a chance to get in on the mayhem.
But basically, I do not see this as being a formal style rp with turns and such. That would just kill the momentum, and the idea is to kill the zombies, not the fun. It would be good if people could Gm their own opponents, to keep things moving rather than waiting upon a GM to hand hold us through each and every instance of things. However, there would be a few basic guidelines to follow.
We are thinking that these particular zombies will be immune to chakra attack. Certainly Gms will be posting all over the place providing hooks for people to pick up and run away with. If we use the gardens as a general headquarters then as we learn more and more about these zombies, how they came to be, how we will save the world and what our casualties have been, then it could progress the event smoothly.
