Well, think of this:

currently: mount.

later on: kuchiyose (mount) + teammate.

they will equal both in power roundabout  what you have now.
YET... you need to work for kuchiyose as you need an animal contract... and that won't be certainly as hard as a curse seal, but you have to work for it. More I have not worked out.

I hope you don't need to work and pay gems and gold for it.

And to reiterate what Neji just said, there's no point in reworking the mounts at this point in time when the current mount system is going to be done with and replaced with another. And if you think about it, your mount can be upto 3 times stronger then your actual character. The mounts are fine as is, you get what you pay for.  ;)

Hmm this sounds intriguing...So it's possible to meet Mando in the forest and sign a contract with the snakes eh??

Remember this Neji...In the Naruto series...You sign a contract to the ENTIRE SPECIES...NOT ONE INDIVIDUAL MOUNT...

Meaning if I meet Gamabunta and sign a contract...I technically should be able to summon Gamatatsu, Gamakichi, Gama, and Gamabunta...One at a time of course but that's how it works in the manga/anime..  :)

But stil..if you make it where it's an individual contract...That would still be awesome...

but on the other hand....My luck with the curse seal is the worst possible kind...so my luck with this event will probably be the same

No, you're absolutely right.
You do contracts with a species.

Yet, you can't (Naruto was a coincidence) summon the biggest of that species from the start.

examples:
what would you like?
a) within one orokill: get gamakichi at level  1-4, gamabushi level 5-9, gamabunta level 10+
OR
b) train for gamakichi a certain time, then you have him (regardless of level or oro kills), train for ... etc... and at the end there is gamabunta.

I think you want B, right? =)
That would fit the current mount system.

An example of B would be:

A Genin would be able to summon Gamatatsu
Chuunins get strong enough for Gamakichi
Jounins get Gama
and then Hunter Nins and up get Gamabunta...

Right?

If that's the way you're thinking of having it...then that seems fine by me.. :D

However...only species in which there are more than 2 mounts are the canine and toad species..

Mando is alone as is Katsuya..Enma, and Kyoudaigumo as well...

and what about the Bijuus?..Kyuubi, Shukaku, and Neko? how would they work in?

Anyway B works good if it's like the example.. :)

I wouldn't want A at all...

an Anbu summoning Gamatatsu?...No thanks  :P

making contracts huh? that sounds like a good idea, except that if it was random and players like me who have a hard time at getting random events would never get a mount.

Shouldn't we include Sanbi ("Three Tails") in this game , because this Biju made an appearence , but its not as powerful. Tell me yourself if this should count as a mount.

Umm wouldn't say that , because havn't gotten info on the other Biju yet. Please remember even as a wild Biju kick the other Mounts easily , but Neko , Shukaku , and  Kyubi.
