Mining Site (Version II)
« on: October 13, 2006, 08:55:06 PM »

The old mining idea was modified because,
> It was boring in a way.
> Sudden death is no fun.
> Who would pay to mine, just beat up the old man
> You guys have too much money and no place to spend it on.

Event
As you were walking along the forest path a thick fog suddenly swallow up the area. By the time the fog cleared, you found youself in front of a mysterious abandoned mining site.

Just then, an old man suddenly appears out of no where and introduces himself as Yama Sennin, Jijikage. "This site has been abandoned ever since that creature made it its nest. You better stay away from there for your own sake." he said.

Choices
>You decide to listen to the old man's warning and stay away. [event ends]
>You decide to take the risk for wealth. You pick up the nearest pickaxe you could find, but it crumbles to dust the moment you touch it. So you decide to dig with your weapon. [event progresses]

Event progresses
>Dig for gems. [turn -1]

Rewards
>Gain 1 to 3 gems.

Other results
>You couldn't find any gems.
>Your weapon broke! [event end]
>Cave in! [if armor is present] You escape with your life but your armor was badly damage. [if no armor] You were crushed by the falling rocks! (Death)
>You see a bright glimmer coming from deeper within the mine. You walk towards it and find yourself face to face with a giant serpent with scales of gems. Oh my God! It's the monster that Jijikage warned you about! [Battle]

Battle
A Giant Snake with Scales of Gems!
>[Win] It escapes but left behind 5 gems!
>[Lose] You were killed. (Loses 20% for your stupidity of not listening to the old man's warning)

Special
A few rare mounts have the ability to lead you to the mine from the forest menu.

Good idea. Although losing my weapon would be realllyy fustrating, along with the 20%. Also, with the battle with the serpent, would you gain experience and gems like with the other sort of minibosses?

It drops 5 gems when you defeat it. As for exp, that's up to Neji.

Oh, well the experience doesn't really matter that much if I'm getting 5 gems out of it. But once again this is a really good idea that would replace the old, dull mining event with something better.

Broken Swords no fun.
I haven't seen anything that breaks armor yet.
How about that instead?

Because you don't use your armor to mine for gems, you use your weapons.

No, I think somewhere between 200-300 gold each time, which is why this new minig event would be so much better.

*gives gyu~ru~ru the thumbs up*

I like this idea, seeing as I hate instant deaths. I think a new mining event would be good.

Your armor breaks if there's a cave-in. If you continue to dig after your armor is broken and meet with another cave-in, you're history.

its a nice idea... but does that mean you can go to the mines at anytime you want, as long as you have the particular mounts?
