Well, I was just thinking...Genies don't belong in Naruto (well, neither to gorgons and manticores, but that can be dealt with later).
So how about instead of a genie, you can fight any one of these.
Ancient Elemental Nin
Multi Jutsu Shinobi
Explorer Ninja
Or something else...

How about a Ninja hired to steal an Ancient Artifact from the ruins. Your sensei tells you to retreive the artifact because it is too dangerous for (client name) to get it. As you go into the ruins you Encounter a ninja who appears to be holding the very same Artifact you are after. The ninja uses a jutsu which hits you with Djinns attack. if you defeat him you gain possesion of The artifact X amount of Exp and your sensei gives you your normal reward.

Ya know,if we cant come up with any catchy names and ones that make s ince, why not just keep Djinn? it dosent hurt gameplay much and we cant find a suitable name.

But that wouldn't explain the elemental rays...Cats and gerbils (except the legendary gerbil trio from pokemon Gold and Silver) can't shoot elemental rays...
