For 25 gems, players can upload a 150x150 picture as an exterior or interior picture of their dwelling.

The exterior picture will be displayed before the dwelling name (displayed only on the list of dwellings you have a key to). While the interior picture will be displayed above the dwelling description when a player enters the dwelling. No picture will be displayed on the hamlet registery list (the plunder or slay list)

When players are looking for a dwelling for sale, there is also an option to "View" the dwelling if the dwelling has a picture.

A dwelling picture will be something that everyone would want. Donating is not something everyone can do. Collecting gems on the other hand, is.

Plus, I don't want it to look like we are trying to squeeze donations out of the players.

Know that it wouldnt be 25 donation points if DP were used. Gems also make it more expensive than DP, because there is no way to gain that many gems in one day

I also with it were DP (like Player Avatars) instead of gems (like Clan Avatars).

Yes, you can get both exterior & interior picture.

Correct, the total cost to get your dwelling fully "avatared" will be 50 gems.

I have my reasons why gems instead of DP,
1) Donate & walla! Instant get pictures for dwelling, no work at all.
2) Players who can do one day Oro kill will have no problem getting tons of DP for themselves & their friends. no work for the others.
3) Please~ DP please~ I will pay you back! More reason to beg for DP.
4) Collecting gems is not only harder, you will also have to do it yourself since there is no gems transfer.
5) More reason for players to play the game actively.
6) It also shows that a player really pours his/her heart into the dwelling.
7) Besides, the harder it is to get them, the more special you will feel for having them.

For those who thinks it's better to use DP instead of gems, what do you have for your defense? Besides "more donation for the server", because something like this wouldn't keep players donating & there are plenty of other ways to get DP without donating.

I'm not saying it is better overall, it would just be more convenient for me personally.   

If it were to be DP, I would expect it to be high (perhaps higher than a bio avatar).

However, since it will likely be gems, will there be a discount for changing it?

Also, I fully understand the 150x150 for the exterior (from a layout standpoint and a load standpoint) but could the size for the interior picture be increased a bit?

I think gems are better, but well. =)

It is not a big deal to make a module which is basically a copy of the clan avatars but does the dwellings instead.

Donation points is easier for me so that ALL of my characters can do it. 

Ultimately, it is not a big deal.  My gems are just so precious.

Also, I completely understand the 150x150 limitation for the exterior dwelling picture.  But I would like a bigger interior picture, even if it cost more to get it.

Also, what are the chances that we would get a discount when we "renovated" our house?  A renovation is not as expensive as the house itself, so when we change the pictures, can it be a smaller gem amount?

Gems or Dps?
Good point Gyu. Gems are no longer tradable, but dps are. I do not want more beggars.
Gems and dps aren't hard for me to gain, so pricing isn't a problem, but whether I would actually use this feature is in question.
