He was alive when Kohona was founded.
So, he is old enough to be Tsunade's Grandfather.
Keep in mind Tsunade is old enough to be someone grandMOTHER.
So Madara is old enough to be Sasuke's great-great-grandfather.

i concur with Miha.they always kill the cool characters.I still havent read the chapter yet but i have a gut feeling that Jiraiya is going to replace the body that he destroyed.
