First of all, the coding effort is large.

Second, it would be a large stack of possible "got a revenge open"

Thirdly, as this would circumvent the limits, it would get unbalanced.

Fourth, an alt (avoiding the current anti-alt-pvp module) would attack the main, get up, and the main attacks him, smacking off his xp. the best would be to have a sitter char at level 15 ;) grabbing tons of xp at chuunin level, you be master hokage. let him attack you, you kill him in revenge and get xp. if you remove the xp, then maybe.

Fifth, the "take revenge" cannot be done from the mail. the mail cannot be interactive, coding wise. (everything can be done, but I would turn everything upside down.... which would be a point to start now program my own game engine, and make around 2010 or 2011 the first run with this engine.

1:11am, and my head is empty.

:P

1. I thought about that.

2. Do you mean people would have dozens of people to attack? But the option is only available for one game day after being killed.

3. How?

4. How would they avoid the anti-alt-pvp module? They'd have to go and use different computers, wouldn't they?

5. Hah, no need to make it from the mail.  :) It could be like the cave in the forest, but it'll appear in the fields only after you are attacked and killed the previous game day.

2. game day or login day? ;) a valid argument. I imagine people creating chars for pvp... to collect and use the revenges.

3. a hokage can pwn a genin. and the genin has of course no chance.

4. want me to explain why this is only a small hinderance? nah, spoiler, but it's easier.

5. so I'd need to keep a large log -_-

Maybe we should only make the option available if you were defeated in a PVP while logged out. That way, if a genin attacked a grand hokage and lost, then the grand hokage wouldn't be able to use this, unless the genin had very high stats, in which case this would be fair.

I'm more interested in the ones that actually killed me while I was away, not the ones that tried and failed.

Would it be possible to have a record of characters that were attacked for revenge?  You (and others) would be able to see Character A and Character B repeatedly attacking each other.  Makes cross-charactering a bit difficult, since there's no use in making new characters because they would all be too weak.  I can't see very many people putting effort into alts that will only be used to CC.

Though I could see the above as having possible coding issues.

3. a hokage can pwn a genin. and the genin has of course no chance.

The genin would have had to defeat the hokage in the first place to initiate a 'revenge' scenario.

The only "unbalance" I can see would be an 8 DK sitter attacking and defeating a Hokage, then the Hokage stacks HP and goes after the 8 DK sitter.  But then they aren't really preying on weak jounins, right?

That's what I was trying to say. There won't be completely unbalanced fights ...at all (unless of course a strong jounin sitter attacks a hunter nin or something like that where the hunter nin has no chance of getting revenge).

Couldn't happen.

You only get the option to get revenge on the person who killed you the previous game day.

I'll give an example to try to explain it better.
Say I attacked and killed you.

You have the chance to take revenge the next game day only.

Say I attacked Kondaime, and killed him.
Three days later, he logs on for the first time since I killed him, what happens then?

There should definitely be a "Statute of Limitations" on all "Revenge Killings".

I think you have to take your revenge the first gameday that occurs after the initial killing took place.

In Mihamaru's above scenario, kodaime would have the option, even 3 gamedays (or 3 real days) later, but only for that day.  If kodaime logs in 5 minutes before the next gameday, he would have to execute his revenge within that 5 minute period.

Of course, all of this is moot if the proper coding becomes too involved.
