What if that new staff member whose "sole purpose is to validate your pics" is not on all the time?
What difference will that make?
Some staff members probably have other things to do, and a one day wait isn't that long.
Though I don't think it will hurt to have another staff member who can validate avatars, one who is already a staff member.
Still though, one day isn't that long.

I think it would make sense to have a few, already existing moderators, be given the additional responsibility of validating avatars.

However, the more eyes you have looking, the more "points of view" you have as far as what gets approved.

For instance, I might be more selective, refusing some avs that were already approved.

It's a one-click-action to either accept or refuse.

I don't see why an avatar should be able to be validated by any mod online.
Then, why can't all mods NOT respond to petitions.
Then, why can't all mods NOT edit or modify users data...

and so on.

It's good as-is.

Neji has a great point.  The more people you let validate, the more deviation and interpretations you have as to what is allowed.

For instance, I would probably be stricter, someone else may be more lenient on what is allowed.

The fewer people, the fewer problems.
